How do I make local, long distance or international calls?

Dial local calls as you would with any other phone. You can also customize 7 digit dialing capability for any area of the U.S. via your OmniTalk Control Panel on our website.

Dialing 1 first is not necessary.

USA Local Calls:
area code + phone number
310-100-1000
USA/Canada
Long Distance:
area code + phone number
310-100-1000
International: 011 + country code + phone number + #
011-44-207-6686000 #
(USEFUL HINT: Pressing the # key after dialing an international number will speed up your call by up to 5 seconds.)

Can I call anyone, or do they also have to be a OmniTalk subscriber?

If you can call someone from your home, office, or mobile/cell phone, you can call them using OmniTalk. There is a difference in that calls from OmniTalk customers to other OmniTalk customers are free and unlimited no matter where they live on the planet.

Non-OmniTalk calls will count against the minutes in your OmniTalk Package. With our unlimited calling plans, you can call anyone in the U.S. and Canada at no additional charge. The other person does not have to have our service, although we hope that you will recommend our service to all of your friends and family!

If you make overseas calls, those calls will be billed at our low international rates (or will count against your Package if it includes international minutes).

How can I check my Call activity and Account settings?

Our OmniTalk Control Panel portal allows you to manage your account, view received calls, missed calls and dialed calls. You can also configure CallBlast (our combination of Call Forwarding and One Number services). Go to www.omni-talk.com and under the "Sign in" tab choose if you have a normal OmniTalk account or an OmniTalk Centrex account. On the new page, login with your OmniTalk phone number (no dashes). Enter your password. You should have received this Login information in your Welcome email.

If I use OmniTalk from overseas, do I dial differently when outside the US/Canada?
If I’m traveling, do people have to dial something different to reach me?

One of the major benefits of OmniTalk is that you can make and receive calls from anywhere on the planet where you have high-speed Internet access. Your dialing pattern remains the same no matter where you are, and people who want to reach you simply dial your number the same way they always do, no matter where you happen to be. If you are connected to the Internet, we’ll find you and deliver the call to whatever device (ATA, Omni Phone, or SoftPhone) you’re using at the time. Realize that call quality may depend on the sophistication of networks overseas.

How do I set up and use OmniTalk Voicemail?

To access or configure your voicemail, either dial 00 from your OmniTalk phone, or dial your OmniTalk Service Number from any phone, then enter * when the voice prompt begins. Follow the instructions to configure or retrieve voicemail.

How do I make a 3-way conference call?

Place a call to the first party you wish to call. Next, press the Flash button, then call the second party. Once the second party answers, press the Flash button again to create a 3-way call.

What is Call Blast? How do I set it up and use it?

This revolutionary feature is a combination of traditional Call Forwarding and One Number (Find Me / Follow Me) services. You can have your calls ring simultaneously on your office, mobile and home phones, or they can be set up to ring sequentially in any sequence and with whatever delay you decide to set. If you want to be found, this makes sure that you are! CallBlast is configured from your OmniTalk Control Panel. Go to www.omni-talk.com and under the "Sign in" tab choose if you have a normal OmniTalk account or an OmniTalk Centrex account. On the new page, login with your OmniTalk phone number (no dashes). Enter your password. You should have received this Login information in your Welcome email.

If I sign up with OmniTalk, can I continue to use toll free "8xx" numbers and have calls complete to my OmniTalk number?

You can either get a new toll-free number or "port" an existing 8XX number to us and we will have it ring to your primary OmniTalk number. We charge a setup fee of $9.95 and $2.95 per month for Toll-free Virtual Numbers.

Can someone place a collect call to my OmniTalk phone number?

No, the OmniTalk service will not allow collect calls to connect to your OmniTalk phone number.

Why am I having a problem making international calls?

You should verify that you dialed the call correctly. If you are calling internationally, you should dial "011" + Country Code prior to dialing the number. Keep in mind that due to the routing or distance of international calls, some customers may have to wait before you hear the phone ringing. Give it a full 30 seconds before you hang up an international call.

Why am I unable to dial certain toll free numbers?

The toll free number that you are dialing may be a regional toll free number and not a national number. Companies using regional toll free numbers pay toll charges for these calls. Since calls are routed via the Internet with the OmniTalk service the number that you are dialing from may be recognized as a long distance number and, therefore, the call may not be completed.
